All Mr Bear wants is to be left alone, but his rabbit neighbours just
don't get it! They keep on asking annoying things like can they borrow
honey, or does he want to swap books! When grumpy refusals don't work,
he decides to scare away those pesky rabbits. Can kindness make Mr Bear
see it's time for a change?
Nayu's thoughts
I'm
a huge bunny fan (come on, bunny sounds cuter than rabbits), but
initially Mr Bear is not. Hence the title – he finds them very Pesky!
Mr Bear is a right Grumpy-Grump (my term), hating anything which
hints at another creature infringing on his solitude. He does change
his tune by the end, but oh boy I'd love to see his face when he
learnt he never was truly alone, there's a cute mouse who keeps Grumpy-Grump company in every page.
I liked the persistence of the
rabbits (used instead of bunnies to avoid confusion) in being kind to
the bear despite his stubbornness for seeking loneliness. It enforces
a good point that no matter how people react, it's good to show
kindness and compassion in all that you do, as it may just soften a
person's heart, like Mr Bear's.
