I
was quite taken by this book because it reminded me of a few from my
childhood which had worlds based on squares, circles, triangles and a
few other shapes. Since I was too little to remember the title (it
clearly wasn't my most favourite book of all time), Take
A Square happily
fills the gap. It takes more than just a square, creating difference
scenes on each page, encouraging the reader to think up their own
story while reading the book, and enabling the reader to recreate the
scene themselves if they have the same/similar building blocks/other
objects. The colours may be a bit subdued for my taste, but it's a
fine addition to every bookshelf.
