Book summary from Piatkus
Welcome to Hartwell, a quiet seaside escape where uncovering old secrets could lead one woman to discover the meaning of a love that lasts . . .

While Doctor Jessica Huntington engages with the inmates at the women’s correctional facility where she works, she’s always careful to avoid emotional attachments in her personal life.  Loss and betrayal taught her that lesson long ago. But when she comes across a set of old love letters in the prison’s library and visits the picturesque town of Hartwell to deliver them to their intended recipient, she finds herself unable to resist the town’s charm – and her attraction to the sexy owner of a local bar proves equally hard to deny.

Since his divorce from his unfaithful ex-wife, Cooper Lawson has focused on what really matters: his family and the boardwalk pub they’ve owned for generations.  But the first time Jessica steps into his bar, Cooper is beyond tempted to risk his heart on her.

Yet as their attraction grows hotter and Jessica remains stubbornly closed off, he begins to realise it will take more than just passion to convince her there’s only one real thing in life worth fighting for...

Nayu's thoughts
Samantha's 3rd book is as awesome as the rest! The only downside is that I have to wait until 2017 for the next book in this new series-so frustrating as I'm desperate to know more about Emery, who is probably my favourite character alongside Bailey, with the heroine coming 3rd. That order is purely through personal choice as I don't support one of Jessica's relationship preferences. That's as clear as I can be without giving a spoiler. I love her dedication to her job, how lost she is and how long it takes her to figure out she's lost. When she does I cried with her, for her past is horrid, and no wonder she is how she is. I'm thrilled that thanks to some letters she refinds her direction in life, making some amazing friends.

I loved both Bailey and Emery straight away, which is funny because they are, on the outside, opposing personalities. I loved Jessica getting to know them both, as thy are clearly her friends, even with Emery being a quiet one. Emery isn't a pushover, her version of getting mad was hilarious! Jessica manages to upset both of them in a reckless decision, but I promise the end is a happy ever after for a while until book 2. She even loses Cooper for a bit, but they work things out eventually too despite his lunatic of an ex-wife. There's many complex issues to sort out and idiots to bash heads against walls (sadly not literally), but this is a fun read and I'm definitely rereading it when book 2 comes out!
